Review: “It Takes Courage”

I bought my copy of this book in a casino parking lot from the trunk of a sporty red car with  a license plate that read MS SUX.

The man who sold me the book was the author Tom Holtackers . You might gather from his license plate that he doesn’t like having multiple sclerosis or perhaps he is not a fan of Microsoft. While I don’t know  his feelings about Microsoft, even though he does tote a Macbook around, I can vouch for his disdain of multiple sclerosis. Tom and I have known each other for about 15 years and while we live an hour apart our paths cross many times a year as a result of his commitment to helping others deal with the effects of having MS.

I said that I have known Tom for 15 years. And while it is true that I have witnessed his character, his strength, talents, and integrity, I did not really know Tom until I read this book.  The reason for that is this book pulls no punches. It leaves few, if any, stones unturned. Private thoughts, intimate struggles, fears, and shortcomings are all laid bare, analyzed and discussed frankly. This is the story of Tom’s triumphant development of the blueprint for the strategy that sustains him in his daily life.

By reading Tom’s story you may find some pieces for your own blueprint that will serve to strengthen the foundation of your strategy for dealing with a chronic illness.

You don’t need to buy your copy from the trunk of the author’s car. You can get the book  by clicking on the following link:
